1.  Are you licensed and insured?
Absolutely.  We are licensed in several states and carry a two million dollar ($2,000,000.00) General Liability Insurance policy protecting you.  All of our professionals are covered under our Workers’ Compensation Insurance.  Protect yourself by having your contractor provide you with a Certificate of Insurance before they do ANY work on your home.

2.  Will my homeowner’s insurance rate increase by filing a claim?
No.  Storms are a natural disaster; therefore, no one is to blame. Your insurer wants your home repaired to prevent more costly claims in the future.

3.  Do I have a deductible?
Check your policy, the amount shown is what your insurance company will deduct from the total damage price.

4.  Do you tear off the old shingles?
Yes.  Each and every time, we tear off ALL old roofing materials down to the decking.  We then inspect for warped or rotten wood.  BEWARE of other roofing contractors that may attempt to re-roof over damaged shingles.  This will lead to improper ventilation and may cause the roof to sag from excess weight.

5.   Is your work warranted?
Of course.  HomeSmart’s workmanship is warranted for 5 years.  In addition, the manufacturer also provides a warranty on all products.

6.  What kind of shingles do you use?
We offer all lines of asphalt shingles, including 3 Tab, Simulated, and Architectural styles.  Your insurer will reimburse you for the style that is being replaced.  Upgrades are available for a minimal cost to you.

7.  Can you provide me with a free inspection?
Yes.  First, we will inspect your home for damages.  If damage is found, then contact your insurer.  Next, we will meet with your insurance adjuster onsite.  Your adjuster will compile a Summary Loss Report showing their measurements and the cost to repair.  We will review the adjuster’s report to make sure there are no omissions or errors.

8.  How long will the process take?
Once the Summary Loss Report is reviewed, materials can be ordered.   Your old roof can be removed and replaced in as little as 2 days.

9.  What organizations are you affiliated with?

We are a member of the NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association) and abide by their guidelines for proper installment of a roof.  We are also a member of the BBB (Better Business Bureau) maintaining a positive (A) rating.  In addition, we are a member of Angie’s list, an association dedicated to providing reputable contractors for their consumers.
